What started with Johnny Mo making Tito’s vodka martini’s in Las Vegas and then cemented into MGC lore with Brett’s Bulleit Old Fashioned in Myrtle Beach, the MGC cock… wait for it… tail has become a tradition that is specifically concocted to pair with our annual trip’s theme or location. Vieux Carré
TRIP/MIXOLOGIST: MGC20 / Greg
GLASS: coupe
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 oz. Rittenhouse rye
- 1 oz. VSOP cognac
- 3⁄4 oz. sweet vermouth
- rinse of Benedictine liqueur
- 2 dashes Peychaud bitters
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Luxardo cherry
INSTRUCTIONS: Combine ingredients with ice in a shaker and shake to chill; strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a Luxardo cherry
Wild Wild West Cocktail
TRIP/MIXOLOGIST: MGC19 / MGC Board
GLASS: double old-fashioned
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 ½ oz. bourbon
- 1 oz. peach schnapps
- 2 oz. cranberry juice
INSTRUCTIONS: Combine ingredients with ice in a shaker and shake to chill; strain into a double old-fashioned glass
The Olympic Cocktail
TRIP/MIXOLOGIST: MGC18 / MGC Board
GLASS: cocktail
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 oz. VSOP cognac
- 1 oz. fresh orange juice
- 3⁄4 oz. Cointreau liqueur
- 2 dashes orange bitters
INSTRUCTIONS: Combine ingredients with ice in a shaker and shake to chill; strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with an orange peel
Flaming B52
TRIP/MIXOLOGIST: MGC17 / MGC Board
GLASS: shot
INGREDIENTS:
- ½ oz coffee liqueur
- ½ oz Irish cream
- ½ oz Grand Marnier® orange liqueur
- 1 dash Ronrico 151 rum
INSTRUCTIONS: Pour the coffee liqueur into a shot glass. Slowly layer the Baileys on top of the coffee liqueur and the Grand Marnier on top of the Baileys. Dribble the rum on top, light with a match and try not to burn your face off as you drink it;)
Mojito
TRIP/MIXOLOGIST: MGC18 / MGC Board
GLASS: highball
INGREDIENTS:
- 3-4 mint leaves
- ½ oz. simple syrup
- 2 oz. white rum
- 3⁄4 oz. lime juice, freshly squeezed
- Club soda, to top
- mint sprig, for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS: Lightly muddle the mint with the simple syrup in a shaker; add the rum, lime juice and ice, and give it a brief shake; strain into a highball glass over fresh ice; top with the club soda; garnish with a mint sprig
Mile High Manhattan
TRIP/MIXOLOGIST: MGC15 / MGC Board
GLASS: cocktail
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 oz. Makers Mark bourbon
- ½ oz. Licor 43
- ½ oz. Grand Marnier liqueur
- 2 dashes orange bitters
- orange Peel
INSTRUCTIONS: Combine ingredients with ice in a shaker and shake to chill; strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with the orange peel
Mint Julep
TRIP/MIXOLOGIST: MGC14 / Misha
GLASS: julep cup, highball or double old-fashioned
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 to 5 mint sprigs, leaves only
- ½ oz. simple syrup
- 2 ½ oz. bourbon whiskey
- mint sprig, for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS: Place the mint leaves and simple syrup into a julep cup, highball, or double old-fashioned glass; muddle well to dissolve the sugar and release the oil and aroma of the mint; add the bourbon; fill the glass with crushed ice and stir well until the glass becomes frosty; garnish with a mint sprig and serve with a straw
Old Fashioned
TRIP/MIXOLOGIST: MGC13 / Brett
GLASS: double old-fashioned
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 teaspoons simple syrup
- 2 oz. Bulleit bourbon
- 2-3 dashes of Angostura bitters
- orange peel
- Luxardo cherry
INSTRUCTIONS: Pour the simple syrup and bitters into a double old-fashioned glass; stir to combine, then place the ice cubes in the glass; pour bourbon over the ice and garnish with the orange slice and Luxardo cherry
John’s Morning Drink
TRIP/MIXOLOGIST: MGC12 / JD
GLASS: hurricane or high ball
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 oz. Sour Apple Pucker liqueur
- 4 oz. Malibu rum
- 3-4 oz. pineapple juice
- 3-4 oz. sugar free Red Bull
INSTRUCTIONS: Combine ingredients in a hurricane or high ball glass and top with ice
Vodka Martini

GLASS: cocktail
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 ½ oz. Tito’s vodka
- ½ oz. dry vermouth
- green olive or lemon peel for garnish
